Compliance & Enforcement

The Department of Compliance and Enforcement (C&E) focuses on protecting the natural resources of Nisg̱a’a Lands and the natural inheritance of the Nisg̱a’a Nation. This is accomplished through enforcing the Nisg̱a’a Fish and Wildlife Act, the Nisg̱a’a Forest Act and/or the Nisg̱a’a Offence Act, and through educating Nisg̱a’a and non-Nisg̱a’a recreational users of the Nass Wildlife Area.

C&E provides public education presentations on how to prevent human/wildlife conflict, how to be safe around aggressive animals, and how to coexist with wildlife in Nisg̱a’a villages. C&E strives to educate hunters/anglers regarding the regulations and expectations of all users in the Nass Wildlife Area while maintaining a positive relationship with the public.
