Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Event Travel and Accommodation Subsidy

For survivors attending the Sept 16-22, 2013, TRC and Reconciliation Canada events in Vancouver, BC

Aboriginal and Northern Affairs Development Canada and various church donations have contributed a total of $200,000 to support the participation of residential school survivors in Truth and Reconciliation and Reconciliation Canada events September 16-22, 2013.

The FNHA will administer the TRC travel and accommodation subsidy to supplement the travel and accommodation costs to survivors who will be attending the Sept 16-22, 2013 event in Vancouver, BC. The FNHA will administer these funds and leverage our relationships with travel vendors to offer discounted airfare and ferry fare for survivors, information will be posted on TRC, Reconciliation Canada and FNHA websites.

Due to the last minute nature of this opportunity, the FNHA will manage all subsidy requests with the intention to support the highest number of survivors possible. The TRC expects over 2000 survivors to attend the event, and depending on demand, there is no guarantee that a subsidy will be provided. Please note that all applications will be handled with the utmost of confidence.
