In accordance with the Nisga’a Elections Act, the general voting day for the Vancouver Urban Local by-election will be:
Wednesday June 25, 2025
The following elected office will be filled in this by election:

• Non-Executive Representative for Nisga’a Vancouver Urban Local for the
  o Greater Vancouver Urban Local – 1 (one) to be elected
  Nisga’a citizens who are 18 years of age or older on June 25, 2025 are eligible to vote in the
  above election. Please ensure that your voter information is current, phone and ask elections
  office where you are registered PRIOR to voting day. Preliminary Voter List available March 26,
  2025.

Requests for mail in ballots must be made to elections office prior to May 25, 2025

The polling station for this by election will be established.

NOTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NISGA’A LAW | Notice of Nomination Period
For the June 25, 2025 Vancouver By-Election

Take note that the nomination period for the Vancouver by-election

• begins at 9:00 AM on April 11, 2025; and
• closes at 5:00 PM on April 24, 2025
  During the nomination period, nominations may be made and filed with the Nisga’a Elections Officer
  for the Nisga’a Vancouver Urban Local Non-Executive Representative.
  Nomination packages will be available at: 1. Nisga’a Elections Office
  4723 Gosnell Crescent, PO Box 223 New Aiyansh, B.C.
  2. Greater Vancouver Urban Local Office (Nisga’a Ts’amiks Vancouver Society) 100 – 525 West 10th
  Avenue, Vancouver B.C.
  ✓ Nominees for a Nisga’a Urban Local Representative must ordinarily reside in the applicable
  Nisga’a Urban Local Area.

Completed nomination packages can be hand delivered, sent via email or fax (with originals to
follow in the mail) to the Nisga’a Elections office before 5:00 PM on April 24 2025.

Please ensure that your nomination package contains all of the following:

• The nomination and acceptance forms
• A current criminal record check
• Payment of the nomination deposit of $100.00 cash, money order or a certified cheque payable to
  the Nisga’a Nation
• Written certification from the Nisga’a Lisims Government Chief Financial Officer that the name of
  the person nominated was not included on the register of prescribed debts as of the date of
  nomination
