SERVICES

Income assistance and social services are available for all Nisg̱a’a citizens who ordinarily live on Nisg̱a’a Lands and in certain situations off Nisg̱a’a Lands.

These can include:

training, education, and employment programs to reduce reliance on income assistance;
local community programs that contribute to physical, emotional, and social well-being;
educational programs;
nursery school programs and services, pre-school to Grade 12 services, and financial support for delivery of post-secondary programs;
Nisg̱a’a language and culture programs; and
Financial support to attend accredited post-secondary education or training institutions for all Nisg̱a’a citizens who ordinarily live in Canada.

K’alii-Aksim-Lisims, the Nass River, flows through a land of sacred mountains and dense forests on Canada’s Pacific Coast. The Nisg̱a’a people have lived in the Nass River Valley since before recorded time.

The Nisg̱a’a Final Agreement, British Columbia’s first modern treaty, recognizes Nisg̱a’a Lands and Nisg̱a’a Government. An example of hope, trust, and cooperation, the Nisg̱a’a Final Agreement is being studied by governments and Indigenous people the world over.
